The Name is Bond, Chemical Bond

Were here in Ms. Nagle's class discussing the valence electrons. They're going over the worksheet and figuring out how many electrons is 'Ne' away from an octet, and using Lewis Structure. Students are answering and discussing. Ms. Vibbert and Ms. Nagle are helping around with some kids that are trying to understand it. The easiest way to find the answer is by looking at the Periodic Table up top shown. They are reading the definition of Ionic bonding. Four students are going up front to participate, two ionic and two covalent. Many students are focused on the lesson in a quiet way. Ms. Nagle and Ms. Vibbert are trying to make a student smile by sharing its electron. Gabriel asked, "Why do I have to share my electron." They responded by saying that the other electron needed one more to get eight in total. There is eight new students in our class and helping to catch them up and review what has been done. Some students are noting things down and others are getting it in their heads at the moment. Ms. Nagle is walking around and looking at students work and making sure they're on task. Carline is teaching the lesson today to Ms. Nagle's class and explaining it most clearest she can for everyone to understand. Many are excited for today they're going work on their lab and make experiments. Carline is drawing the figure for students to have a drawing to what it's like. Covalent is sharing not giving the electron completely. They're getting the equipment together to give the students. They are doing one today outside with a group of students its going to be a 'Melting Point' and another experiment on Friday. Everyone is excited on starting, they're explaining the directions and safety. There is some safety concerns: fire [flammable] and to never give your back to it and be as careful as possible. Ms. Nagle was just surprised about seeing me type her name and Ms. Vibbert smiled at here knowing what is going on. There is going to be smoke in this experiment. The students are joining groups and looking for partners to work with in the experiment.

Day 2: Rainy Day Period

HEY HEY HEY HEY HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY Welcome back GUYS! Welcome Back So we are about to see that we are doing Some Groups for the Periodic Table of Element. I choose Group 3-12: Transittion Metals. Look in the Physical Science Textbook on Pages 202 - 208. The atoms of transition metals do not give away their electrons as easily as atoms of the Group 1 and Group 2 metals do. And that's all for today but don't worry i'll be back one day See Ya Later.

Day 2: Rainy Day Period

YOOOOOOOOOOO Were back coming up were going to do the Periodic Table of Elements:
1. Helium He Neon Ne Argon Ar
2.They are in the same column
3.Hydrogen (H) Lithium (Li) Sodium (Na)
4.They are in the same column
5.Each element has valence electron than the previous element.
6.As you move down a column, you gain an eletron ring
7.Alkaki - Lithium (Li) & Sodium (Na)
7a.Alkaline - Berylium (Be) & Magnesium (Mg)
7b.Boron - Boron (B) & Aluminum (Al)
7c.Carbon - Carbon (C) & Silcon (Si)
7d.Nitrogen - Nitrogen (N) & Phosphrus (P)
7e.Oxygen - Oxygen (O) & Sulfur (S)
7f.Halides - Flourine (Fl) & Chlorine
I'm tired I'll keep blogging later Part 3.....

Day 2: Rainy Day Period

Hey Hey Hey Hey What's up everyBody. My name is Jesse Herrera and I'm the blogger of the day. Today we starting our new activity called worksheet of the periodic table. Everybody is doing great David is about to color, Joshua is cuttting the cards, Shawn is talking to Jubenal, Jubenal is talking to Shawn, Gustavo is doing nothing, Manuel is playing Vmath, Diana is cutting the cards, Yeodennis is also cutting the cards, and Vanessa is playing Cool Math Games. They about FIVE MINUTES!!!! Part 2 of Day 2 will be Continued.......
