Davids journal

In Ms. nagels class we did a science experiment outside about sugars we had 4 of them labled. Then we lighted it under then we were waiting which type of sugars burned first and then we wrote them down on the paper. After we were done with the project and went back to class and we started to talk about diferent things that happened. One time we disected a squid and we took the needle to sepeate its tenicles apart.

The Name is Bond, Chemical Bond

Were here in Ms. Nagle's class discussing the valence electrons. They're going over the worksheet and figuring out how many electrons is 'Ne' away from an octet, and using Lewis Structure. Students are answering and discussing. Ms. Vibbert and Ms. Nagle are helping around with some kids that are trying to understand it. The easiest way to find the answer is by looking at the Periodic Table up top shown. They are reading the definition of Ionic bonding. Four students are going up front to participate, two ionic and two covalent. Many students are focused on the lesson in a quiet way. Ms. Nagle and Ms. Vibbert are trying to make a student smile by sharing its electron. Gabriel asked, "Why do I have to share my electron." They responded by saying that the other electron needed one more to get eight in total. There is eight new students in our class and helping to catch them up and review what has been done. Some students are noting things down and others are getting it in their heads at the moment. Ms. Nagle is walking around and looking at students work and making sure they're on task. Carline is teaching the lesson today to Ms. Nagle's class and explaining it most clearest she can for everyone to understand. Many are excited for today they're going work on their lab and make experiments. Carline is drawing the figure for students to have a drawing to what it's like. Covalent is sharing not giving the electron completely. They're getting the equipment together to give the students. They are doing one today outside with a group of students its going to be a 'Melting Point' and another experiment on Friday. Everyone is excited on starting, they're explaining the directions and safety. There is some safety concerns: fire [flammable] and to never give your back to it and be as careful as possible. Ms. Nagle was just surprised about seeing me type her name and Ms. Vibbert smiled at here knowing what is going on. There is going to be smoke in this experiment. The students are joining groups and looking for partners to work with in the experiment.
